Michael I. Danovitz was appointed to the Board of the Intergovernmental Cooperation Authority by Pennsylvania’s Speaker of the House of Representatives Sam Smith on May 6, 2014.
Mr. Danovitz is a founding Partner of the firm of Eckman & Danovitz, a law firm which provides individuals with a family office platform to manage their tax consulting, tax compliance, business consulting and legal needs. Prior to starting Eckman & Danovitz, Mr. Danovitz worked for Ernst & Young, a global public accounting firm.
Mr. Danovitz earned his Bachelor’s degree in Accounting from the Pennsylvania State University and his Juris Doctorate from the University of Pittsburgh School of Law.
He also is a Certified Public Accountant licensed to practice in Pennsylvania. He is admitted to the United States Tax Court in Washington, D.C., the Pennsylvania Bar, and the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
In addition to the ICA Board, Mr. Danovitz serves on the Board of the Stadium Authority of the City of Pittsburgh since 2009, and previously served as its Chairman. Additionally, he is a Board member and past president of the Hebrew Free Loan Association of Pittsburgh, and a Trustee of the Pittsburgh Athletic Association. He is a City of Pittsburgh resident.
